Just Right for Christmas

Author(s): Birdie Black

Children Picture

One snowy Christmas eve, the king buys some soft red cloth to make a cloak for the princess - little does he know that the left-over cloth will be used to make presents for many more of the kingdom's inhabitants, right down to the last teeny bit of cloth made into a scarf, which is just right for the smallest mouse to protect him from the winter chill.

Product Information

Rosalind Beardshaw, illustrator of Just Right for Christmas, was inspired to draw when Rolf Harris visited her school when she was ten years old, and she hasn't stopped drawing since. She has illustrated many books for children, including 'Grandma's Beach' and 'Grandma's Surprise', which she also wrote. She loves creating new characters, especially if they can be based loosely/wholly on her shaggy lurcher, Basil. She lives in York with her husband and young son. Birdie Black, the author of Just Right for Christmas, read lots of children's books as a child, and didn't really ever stop. As well as writing the odd book, she runs a small, independent children's publishing company - Oh, all right: it's Kate Wilson.
