The illustrations are clear and very useful to clarify the points being made. The text is easy to read, and covers all the most important aspects of learning to ride side-saddle. I think that anyone who may be considering having a go at riding 'side-ways' would find this book a very useful and enjoyable starting point.  Jane Pryor has ridden side-saddle since the age of ten. She is a side-saddle judge, senior examiner, successful competitor, and the only advanced level instructor in Scotland. She is the Side-Saddle Association's area chairman for N. Scotland, a member of the council for over ten years, and official historian. She has written numerous articles on side-saddle equitation and general horse topics for various magazines. She is based in Aberdeenshire where she runs a livery yard and teaches side-saddle and dressage.
