The Victoria and Albert Museum Diary 2010 celebrates dress - from the bright silks of the Maharajas to the intricately patterned Japanese kimono. Focusing on garments from the collections at the V&A, this is a sumptuous and colourful representation of dress and the people who wore it. Details of fastenings, necklines, cuffs, hemlines and fringes create a visual feast of textures, patterns and craftsmanship. Images of outfits (some shown in detail) as well as accessories such as hats, shoes and fans are included, plus photographs, paintings and illustrations showing the men and women who wore them.
