When her father is arrested for receiving stolen goods, Josie is so angry at the upheaval his actions have caused that she refuses to see him or have anything to do with him. After he is found guilty the family has to move closer to the prison and Josie must fit into a new school in a small town, away from the friends and the life she knew.
